Bio
Jamie M. Trapp was born and raised in Chicago. He grew up in a blue-collar, working-class neighborhood in the city. He attended high school in Chicago and graduated from DePaul University Law School. Since 1981, Mr. Trapp has concentrated his practice on the representation of people who have been injured due to the negligence of another. He has represented clients throughout the State of Illinois who have been seriously injured due to car accidents, construction site negligence, medical malpractice, unsafe products, and other incidents.
Within five years after graduating from law school, Mr. Trapp obtained verdicts and settlements that were widely reported in Chicago and national news publications. Recently, he achieved a $12,000,000 settlement for a mother of a newborn where, during labor, the hospital and doctors gave the mother the drug, Pitocin, in a manner that was against the hospital’s safety policies. The administration of Pitocin caused severe problems for the newborn. The settlement will provide for lifelong care for the newborn and family. In another case, Mr. Trapp negotiated a settlement during trial for $8,000,000 for a woman given the wrong medication in an emergency room of a local hospital. At the beginning of another recent trial, Mr. Trapp settled with a hospital and physician for $10,000,000 for injuries to a newborn.
