What is The National Association of Distinguished Counsel?
The Nation’s Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel (NADC) is an organization that promotes legal excellence and highlights attorneys who are the best representatives of these ideals in the field. The NADC seeks to recognize the achievements of attorneys who exemplify the high standards of the Bar and promote excellence amongst their peers. Geller was first selected to the list in 2015, and he has an impressive tenure with the organization. The members of NADC are comprised of many of the nation’s finest legal minds. As an incredibly selective honor, membership is limited to the top one percent of lawyers in the United States.
How are Members Selected?
Selection to the Nation’s Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel involves a rigorous examination and vetting process. An independent and neutral blue-ribbon panel of attorneys creates a research team charged with vetting and approving only the top lawyers exhibiting the values and ideals of the Bar and legal profession.
The vetting process proceeds as follows:
- The research committee selects some candidates, and others are nominated by NADC members, attorneys, or clients.
- Prospective candidates are vetted by NADC researchers using information from various resources, like the public record, client reviews, case results, and online searches.
- An elite panel of attorneys with long, storied legal careers are selected to study the candidacy documents created by the NADC research team. The attorneys empaneled to make these recommendations are NADC members with unique perspectives and knowledge of the values and track record needed to qualify for selection.
- Once recommendations are complete, a judicial board convenes to weigh the merits of the chosen candidates. Only those who epitomize the ideals of the organization are selected to move forward.
