Throughout his career, Michael has represented victims of personal injury and wrongful death. Michael understands the physical, mental and emotional impact that injuries have on the lives of victims and their families, and prides himself on working aggressively for clients so they do not face insurance companies and corporations alone. His goal has always been to provide maximum compensation to injury victims, allowing them to regain control of their lives. Michael has obtained numerous jury verdicts and settlements into the millions, often against some of the country’s largest corporations.

Most recently, Michael helped secure $875,000.00 for a local construction worker who was injured when he fell off a ladder while installing glass during the construction of a storage warehouse facility. The client sustained neck injuries requiring two separate fusion surgeries. Throughout the case, the general contractor tried to place blame on the worker for setting up the ladder on unstable ground. However, evidence revealed that prior complaints were made about unstable ground where he was to be working, and that he was pressured by the contractor with the decision of either performing the work, or being fired.

One of Michael’s most memorable accomplishments involved securing a confidential settlement for the family of a young lady who was killed in a trucking accident. The young lady was visiting the United States on a student visa from Macedonia. She was a passenger in an 18-wheel tractor-trailer driven by her fiancé, when the tractor-trailer tipped while rounding a highway exit ramp in Alabama. Evidence suggested that the Texas company who loaded the trailer did not properly secure or stabilize the cargo, causing the trailer to tip while making the turn. The key witness in the case moved out of the United States, and was initially nowhere to be found. However, Michael continued to dig and investigate, and located the witness half way across the globe in Bulgaria. After having the key witness available to testify from Bulgaria, the Defendant company changed its tune and was forced to settled the case for maximum value.

Michael is never intimidated by the size of the company or price tag of their attorney’s standing on the other side. He points to a case involving corporate giant Coca-Cola. Just prior to trial, Michael was able to secure a large confidential settlement on behalf of an electrician who was electrocuted to death while servicing a Coca-Cola vending machine. Coke argued that the client was at fault for failing to unplug the machine prior to working on it. However, the vending machine was not equipped with a GFCI safety device (similar to what is installed on outlets in kitchens and bathrooms). Michael argued that this situation is exactly why the device should have been placed on the machine, that the technology was available, and could have been done for just a few dollars.

Michael is a trial attorney whose area of practice includes auto accidents, construction accidents, railroad accidents, trucking accidents, slip & falls, medical malpractice, and other serious personal injury accidents. He obtained his law degree from DePaul University College of Law, and his undergraduate degree in Finance from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
